Saw a female monarch 3 days in to our unseasonable heat wave. She had been depositing eggs on the Asclepias incarnata for some time before I observed her, and then I saw her visit the Asclepias tuberosa, which I have only seen happen once in my garden in almost 20 years. (in the image she is resting on a milkweed, the eryngium in front of her is deceptive).
