My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch picnic for the Summer Solstice (June 20) at Vista Point (Sonoma County, CA coast). We sat at a picnic table near large clusters of blooming African bugle lilies (orange) that have naturalized and spread a lot along the coast. These flowers attracted so many Ana's Hummingbirds when we were there - feeding, chasing each other, and resting on the blooms (7 or more). This hummingbird species lives here all year, but we've never seen them this active or so many together in Nature in one place! :)
