Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 06/22/2024

Number: 2

We have two that just made their chrysalis yesterday. So far this is the worst year in the last ten years for monarchs on our milkweed. We have raised more black swallowtails, seven that are in their chrysalis as well for the last 8 days and counting.

We have blue azure, eastern swallowtails, painted ladies, red admirals and a few others with only one male monarch sighting this year. Females twice because of two different sets of eggs but we never saw the females.
