Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 06/25/2024

Number: 1

Found a Monarch chrysalis on my garden Hyssop after seeing it as a large caterpillar eating my garden Swamp Milkweed over the previous 2 weeks. I clipped the Hyssop with the chrysalis attached to the top of a mesh cage 2 days ago. She emerged this morning during a severe storm with strong winds and pouring rain. Once the weather lets up, I’ll release her back onto the Swamp Milkweed she started on that is now blooming. She is stretching her wings, preparing for release. She is a female. Beautiful.
