Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 06/29/2024

Number: 1

Found an egg on common milkweed growing in a two-acre pollinator meadow in its first year of establishment. The common milkweed survived the herbicide and disking/compacting/seeding to establish the meadow. Yay! This is the first sign of monarch butterflies being present here this year. So glad they made it back!!!

It is hot and humid today - 91 degrees and partly cloudy, wind from south at 11 mph. Egg spotted around 3:30 PM on a survey of the meadow.
