Hi. They arrived about 3 weeks ago. I counted 9 this morning, up to today we had counted just 5. It doesn't seem to me they should be here this time of year.
I read that tropical milkweed may stop monarchs in their migration. We have a tropical milkweed, but at that time it had not bloomed yet, and just now has flower buds as of a couple days ago. It is also small, just 2 stalks and 6 to 8 inches tall.
It doesn't make sense to us that they are in this part of Texas this time of year, or that they have been here about 3 weeks, presuming it's the same butterflies. We are concerned. Should we do something to send them northward?

I was unable to get a picture with all of them in it.
