Sightings report image

Date: 07/02/2024

Number: 2

Observed this male patrolling an extensive patch of Milkweed at Tannery Park adjacent to the washrooms which I described yesterday. Watched him over the course of an hour between approximately 9:45 and 10:45. Visited the same spot late afternoon between approximately 15:00 and 16:00. He was still patrolling. Another male approached at one point and he chased him off. Unfortunately, no females. I cannot say if it was the same Male that I saw July 1. However, the picture that I took shows some clear marks on his wings that I may be able to use to identify him if I spot him again. Beautiful partly cloudy day, comfortable temperature. Closest Environment Canada weather reporting station at Burlington Lift Bridge reported temperature of 17° at the time of my first observation, which was actually the low for the day. Wind NNE at 12 km/h, relative humidity 83%, dew point 14°C, barometric pressure relatively steady at 102.5 kPa.
