I think this is one of the same butterflies sighted on Friday, July 5th, judging from how faded orange it is (as were the earlier ones). This one was flying around my garden, mostly fairly high up and somewhat sporadically. Occasionally it would rest on my redbud tree and one time I saw it nectaring on a butterfly bush. Its behavior suggested to me that it was a male, but I could not get close enough to observe its wings and confirm. I could see that the wings were tattered.
