Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/10/2024

Number: 1

I haven't seen a monarch this year.

I have nothing but tussock
moth caterpillars destroying the milkweed in my yard.

I always look to see if there are any signs of monarch caterpillars on the milkweeds.

I saw a hole in the leaf about the size of a pencil eraser with a monarch caterpillar next to it. I looked for more and there were 3 to 4 more holes on the same plant but no caterpillars.
I will raise and release the one I found.
