Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/16/2024

Number: 30

Several times we could see 4 or 5 monarchs at a time. We saw two mating pair simultaneously. And several twirling, chasing butterflies. There were brightly colored monarchs and worn faded monarchs. In the distance you could see lots of flying unidentified creatures that could have easily been monarchs. However we didn’t move through the meadow so I’m sure some of the count in this report -repeat counts a few monarchs.

Lots of queen Ann’s lace, blue vervain, swamp and showy milkweed were blooming. Temperature was high, hot and sweaty.
