I have seen ZERO Monarch butterflies, larvae, eggs thus far in 2024. The milkweed at my home is sparse. However, the milkweed patches at Castlewood Canyon state park where I volunteer are thick and healthy. I have seen no Monarch butterflies at the park, nor have other volunteers informed me of any sightings this year. This is very unusual. It is the first year, since I began reporting Monarch sightings in 2015, that I have not seen a Monarch butterfly, larva or egg during or before the first week of July.
