Male nectaring on Canary Islands Ivy which we have no idea where this ivy came from.
This is only the third monarch that we have seen this year, although most of the Zinnias and Mexican Sunflowers that we plant each year for butterflies have died, which may have affected the sightings. Our common milkweed is very stunted due to drought conditions and record high temperatures.
