Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/16/2024

Number: 2

I was photographing a pair of red spotted purples nectaring on my butterfly bush. A monarch started circling and chased the purples away but they kept coming back. I was focused on the purples and captured a rare moment the monarch and purple shared a bloom! It was only for a split second and the monarch took off. There was a second monarch circling near the garden. It was much more interested in the first monarch. They swirled around together for quite a while.
