A solitary monarch, female visitor to our wildflower garden over the septic tank. Though we have many milkweed within sight, this one chose to rest for about a half hour on an unidentified plant about 4 feet tall.

Very few monarch sightings so far this year: a pair about three weeks ago that we saw for a few hours at our property but nothing here since then until today.
