Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 07/27/2024

Number: 1

I checked the underside of the swamp milkweed where I saw the adult laying an egg to get this photo.

I planted swamp milkweed near and along our small pond, partly shady and next to a wet meadow, over 15 years ago. This small patch has attracted monarch adults since the first year I added them to this habitat. It's been a joy and great satisfaction to see, that it does not take years to attract monarchs to milkweed.
