For quite a few years now I have been collecting wild monarch caterpillars and rearing them in large screened tents. Two years ago, I successfully raised 52 monarchs. Last year, 98. This year 3 so far.

We have seen very few monarchs this year. We have about 50 swamp milkweed plants as well as 7 acres of wildflowers that have common milkweed.

THE LACK OF POLLINATORS AND MONARCHS IS STAGGERING!!!

So sad. At this rate, monarchs will be extinct in our area in a few years.
