Saw a monarch butterfly nectaring on a Liatris scariosa nieuwlandii just starting to bloom and on a MX Sunflower. It also appeared to nectar on Scutellaria incana, but large butterflies are not known to nectar on it.

The butterfly nectared on and off all afternoon. Could not get close enough for a picture.
