Two chrysalises. The one shown in the attached picture pupated today. I’ve had a couple of monarch butterflies visiting my milkweed patch in my garden. They laid many eggs, but the only ones to survive were these two that I covered with mesh bags out in the garden. The rest, I assume, were predated. I later moved the caterpillars at around 3rd instar stage to this enclosed mesh with potted milkweed.
