Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/01/2024

Number: 10

On the east side of our house we have five common milkweed popping out of a stand of peons. Eight larve varying from 2 instar to almost 5 instar were feeding on the milkweed. Wow, that seemed great, then I walked our whole property and randomly inspected some 50 milkweed plants. On them I found a total of three larvae varying from a 2 instar to almost a 5 instar. I saw no adults all day and none yesterday either. All season I never saw more than one at any one time. There are not many around.
