How sad is it already August 1st. Time to start reporting adult male hummingbirds. This adult Ruby hummingbird is still in its molting phase by his coloration. It was taken right around dusk. A lot of territorial chasing going on. Juvenile hummingbirds in the mix already learning about territory and boundaries. Perch high dive in when other birds approaching a feeder.
