Very few monarchs this year on the north shore of Lake Erie near Port Stanley, Ontario.
Normally they arrive late May/early June. This year we were well into July before we saw one or two monarchs sporadically. We have seen more in the past week than we have seen all summer. Lots of milkweed around for them. We are on a migratory path, perhaps we will see larger numbers in September when they typically congregate here as they begin their journey south.
