Numerous patches of common milkweed in fields surrounding UMASS stadium, but no indication of caterpillar activity, eggs, and have not observed monarchs flitting around the expansive multi- acre site.
I've maintained a pollinator garden nearby for many years, less than a mile away, and have yet to see more than one Monarch this year, and that sighting was before the Blitz. In past years, I've seen Monarchs most often in early to late fall.
