From the one Monarch we saw in June on our long leaf and tropical milkweed. There were 25-30 eggs and instars spotted. 23 eggs and instars were collected and placed in butterfly habitats. All 23 eclosed between 07/23/24 and 07/27/24. And were released into our back yard with most flying East. We still have 3 monarchs in our back yard enjoying the milkweeds, joe pye, and butterfly bush.
So far we have collected 21 eggs and more are being layed. Our milkweed supply is not endless so we have to let some go to the birds and wasps.
