Observed Monarch laying eggs at Godley Park where I walk with my dog, 10 eggs until she flew off, didn't like me around watching.
I've been assisting the park, planting nectar plants; tall garden phlox, blanket flowers, dotted mint. This has been a work in progress for 3 years. In the spring of 2024 the park carved out and created a new area for a large nectar garden to increase the number of blooming plants and to ensure monarchs return. The park guy planted a butterfly mix; Cosmos, Zinnia, Coneflower and more.
