This patch of common milkweed contains 300-400 plants. Today was hot, 28 degrees C. and mostly overcast. I spent 30 minutes looking at plants and saw no indications of monarch activity. No adults, even though there is a lot of goldenrod and other nectar sources in the area. The milkweed Leaves showed no indications of eggs, larvae, or previous chewing activity.
