Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/06/2024

Number: 6

Here is a truly amazing story...
This afternoon, 5 burly, sweaty guys with hard hats
that were working in front of my house...

on the sidewalks, and street, getting prepped to pave
alongside my driveway,
using a back hoe, and a dump truck, digging up ledge
and directing traffic,

and after 3 years of sewer work on my street...

they stopped and saved 2 monarch caterpillars and 1 chrysalis.

They moved them so gently to another milkweed

6 feet from the street in my garden.

My husband saw them

and told me.

I went out and praised them for saving the monarch cats

from doom.

I was so impressed!

I have an aquarium with a screen for one side

and put some milkweed that I have been growing in a pot

into the aquarium and moved the 2 cats and chrysalis into the tank

and in the house til they hatch to keep them safe from predators.
I found 1 more,
so 3 cats and 1 chrysalis.

Keep you posted on how they do...
