Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/13/2024

Number: 4

One monarch earlier this week, then three monarchs sighted up the road today and at least one here at our home, in the front in the common milkweed and into the zinnias in the back. It's alighting on multiple younger common milkweed plants. I am seeing a few eggs, and so far despite > 100 common milkweed plants little evidence yet of chomping instars. The older plants are yellowing and dropping leaves. I have a lot of goldenrod yet to bloom. BUT: I do have
echinacea/black eyed Susans/Joe Pye weed/ lantana/zinnias/cannas. Bee balm not so healthy here. Weather has been beautiful after a good rain following a droughty season
