Arrived late today, just after noon. Located this male in the Common Milkweed patch I have been monitoring, mostly resting with his wings spread open but occasionally patrolling and relocating when disturbed by passersby. The tattered male from yesterday is missing. It would appear that this new male has usurped him. The wind is up today and I have noticed that this male is doing more resting than patrolling.
I would also like to note that the plant on private property that I observed Monarchs voraciously nectaring on yesterday, is absent of Monarchs so far this afternoon during the time of my observation.
