At Tannery Park Common Milkweed patch near the washrooms that I have been monitoring, found three eggs today. One was empty and two reported here, were whole. Good news, two first instars were located where eggs were previously on Friday (see separate report under larva.) That accounts for the five eggs that I observed Friday. All were located on very tiny plants. I would also like to note that the choice of tiny plants for placement of eggs is working against the Monarchs at this location, as the tiny plants are frequently trodden on and broken or destroyed by critters chewing on them.
