Observed two very fresh first instars today. On Friday they were eggs. Common Milkweed patch near Tannery Park washrooms. It should be noted that the fifth instar sighted on Friday and the second instar that I had to relocate on Friday are both missing. There is evidence that the tiny milkweeds in this area were trodden on over the weekend. I had anticipated that the fifth instar would J as he had gone walkabout onto the dogwood. No J or chrysalis observed after an extensive search.
