I just saw 3 hummingbirds in a chase, flying through my trees. I could not discern the sex. I regularly see a friendly female nectaring on my yard’s flowers and feeders before a territorial male chases her away. The female has intentionally hovered near me several times before moving on to get some nectar or sugar water. The male nectars and then sits around the area to scout for intruders to chase away. Seeing 3 together is unusual.
