Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/22/2024

Number: 1

This is a very new adult monarch; it was one of eight caterpillars that were on my milkweed. Managed to keep track of two of them and know where their chrysalises were. This one emerged mid-day August 22 after 16 days as a chrysalis. In this picture it was just opening and closing its wings. An hour later, it fluttered its wings and took off.
