This female monarch is just hours old, hanging onto her chrysalis. She hung there until the breeze was too much for her, then she opened her wings and glided into some grass. I picked her up and put her on a coneflower, but she didn't stay there long. She did short flights around the yard, then finally, fluttered her wings and took off over the hedge. Did see a female monarch a couple of days later just down the road. Might have been her.
