Early this morning my resident male ruby throated hummingbird started his long journey south. There was a marked decrease in hummingbird activity. He always protected his feeder. I have 5 feeders and many test tube feeders throughout the yard. Another hummingbird has claimed his feeder. Here is one of the last pictures of my resident male who has been with us since April.
Fly safe tiny bird. May you find fresh nectar on your long journey. I will miss you!
