After a long wait this year the second generation female must have made the flight and showed up in our area!
Usually we have both 1st and second generation. Spent many hours and days checking places and plants for evidence of eggs and cats. So when in August the leaves were eaten and a monarch was finally spotted you could hear my voice for blocks!!
Released 3 monarchs. 2 males one female today.
Could only get 2 to pose for photos, lol.
First time I’ve seen them eat at the flowers after enclosing-resting yes, but not full on eating.
It was exciting to see!!
