Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/01/2024

Number: 22

I decided to take a stroll on my property and see how many monarch butterfly caterpillars I could count. I was pleasantly surprised to count 22 of them plus one green chrysalis and one monarch that appeared to have just emerged a few hours before and was hanging drying its wings. See photos. I live on about two acres of land SW of the city of Bemidji, MN and have allowed the common milkweed to grow without mowing where it is found. Any questions please ask.
