2nd female Monarch arrived in our yard and was hitting our Tropical milkweed from at least 1:45pm until after 5pm. Cool windy day in 70's with occasional sun. Both she and the 1st female on 9-10-24 laid eggs. This is late to get the eggs to chrysalis! Last year at this time we had lots of 5th instar caterpillars. We're thankful these 2 have found our milkweed ... our area has been in a Summer drought & there is little milkweed in our county in good years.
