Of the 40 I reported on 8/27/24 all have eclosed, the last 13 eclosed on 9/13 and 9/14. All were in an outside protected enclosure of screens taped together, since I observed a squirrel take and eat a chrysalis right off a milkweed plant. Unlike other years, they are moving and not sticking around for longer than a day. Observed a few nectaring on Sedum, Blanket Flower, Lantana and Tall Garden Phlox. Daytime temps in high 80s, nights can get very chilly 50-60 degrees.
Found 8 more new caterpillars still feeding, will report on them under the Monarch larva section.
