Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/18/2024

Number: 7

Hello Journey North. Have found seven caterpillar on swamp milkweed. Been looking for last couple of weeks and didn't think there were any. Suddenly they appear just like magic. Desided to leave them on the milkweed as there's not a lot left. Have not had a lot of monarchs but a few have seen fit to lay their eggs here. There are two adult females and one male on the tithonia right now. Will continue to check on their progress. People please plant whatever milkweed works in your part of the country, it only takes one small patch to produce monarch butterflies.
