Every once in a while we get a hummingbird that has a personable character. The small adult male rubythroat that arrived 2 days ago seems to be a happy one. He flew over my head twice as I always wear a decal hummingbird cap. Likes to sits in 3 different..

Note: never have seen a "follows me around" mode by any species.

We annually see an adult female rubythroat(s) in spring going around looking in windows. That is a very unusual freaky observation. Hovering straight at me thru the kitchen window. Always and only at that time of year. Yesterday I saw the new incoming adult female rubythroat turn from nectaring from Hamelias. She was adjacent looking at husband sitting when we were outback.

3 Rufous have hovered in my face and seem to be the most close up encounter, curious species. That was a freeze on my part with a pointed needle beak that close.
