Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/30/2024

Number: 1

Saw a Monarch on our picture windowsill this morning, resting, out of the very strong wind. There is something about Monarch butterflies that really endears them to me. They roosted on clothespins on our clothesline the last 2 years as my first seasonal roosts. I am working on a prairie enhancement south and east of our farm building site and I would see Monarchs in the morning checking out the new seeding. We have done and are doing all we can to make our farm Monarch friendly, no chemicals and about 220 acres in permanent tallgrass prairie. I invite anyone truly interested in the Monarch lifecycle to come here and study the "Monarch Summer".
