we first noticed this caterpillar 23 SEP 2024. the 3rd (?) instar was feeding on a tiny milkweed plant. Now 30 SEP 2024, we have watched this insect a full week. this is the ONLY monarch caterpillar any of us have seen summer and fall 2024 in central Maine.
