I had given up finding even one monarch caterpillar this fall because of the late date! After I finally stopped looking, I was surprised to find 26 large caterpillars nearly ready to form their chrysalises on my two tropical milkweed plants. I brought them inside to protect them until they emerge as adult butterflies.
