I observed an adult male at one of our feeders and flowers this morning for a few hours. He was definitely a traveler passing through on his way south. He definitely riled the juveniles that we still have here. He was also quite friendly. It's obvious that he is accustomed to humans and even friendly.
Please keep fresh feeders up. Migration is far from over. We still have 8-12 juveniles with us. Even at our cabin in Laurel Springs, NC, we still have several, even after Helene. Your fresh feeder up could mean the difference between life and death for some of these late travelers. Godspeed dear little ones!
