The picture was actually of the 30th of September, a monarch we spotted at Kennedy County Park. A nice day, sunny, a north breeze, temp about 70. All the goldenrod now brown, but still some nectar in the New England Asters.
The next day, we saw a new "last one"........that was just a brief glimpse of a monarch flying south at Swede Lake; again, nice weather, southwesterly wind, temp in the 70s.
Chances of seeing monarchs at this point is slim to none, here in northwestern Wisconsin.
