Number: 40

We have a downspout and sump pump drainage hole in our yard. It has become a favorite watering hole for local wildlife. I noticed lots of fluttering around the pond at sunset, and using our binoculars, I saw it was a lot of robins, many of which were immature (with speckled breasts). Within a few feet of the tree are several trees. The robins appeared to be taking turns. A few (5-6) would fly down, drink and bathe, then fly up to the branches while others took their places. This went on for several minutes until one of our crows came and scared them away. But then a couple minutes later, a large male Robin chased the crow away, and the rest of the robins returned to the hole for a few more minutes. I’m guessing on the number. There were 5-6 at a time at the hole, but there were lots fluttering around in the trees.
