Starting in late August we began to see a large and sudden increase in the number of eggs in our garden. As of today we estimate to have about 60 larvae in various stages. Most are second instar but a handful have formed into a chrysalis.
Meanwhile we continue to count butterflies at Google. There have been on average about 12 butterflies each time we visit. Much of the planted tropical milkweed has died off as they prepare to renovate the campus in this area.
