Gambel oak leaves yellowing. Milkweed seeds flying. Sandhill cranes passing overhead, heading south. Nuthatches, jays, flickers, woodpeckers, sparrows, juncos, spotted towhees, a dozen Western bluebirds, squirrel eating acorns and berries (elder and cottoneaster) and visiting birdbaths. Painted ladies and orange sulfur and moths nectaring. Agastache, Plains coeopsis, zinnias, marigolds, morning glories, harebell, scarlet gilia, red birds in a tree, globe mallow, penstemon, paintbrush, six hills giant mint blooming. One mushroom bunch. Hot, dry, a bit cooler at night.
