Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/24/2024

Number: 1

Healthy! Surprised to see a 5th instar since we didn't see any monarchs in the garden previously. A Monarch came to lay eggs a couple days before so happy to see a caterpillar make it to this point in the garden, happily munching on our milkweed. It's the first time I'd seen a Monarch eat the flowers. We took her in bc of heavy winds and rain approaching. She successfully went into chrysalis and we released her October 5th and she took flight.
