I was at Ft. Washington last Saturday for an all-day event and saw several monarchs. I'm sorry I didn't get any photos but they were clearly intent on migrating. Most were flying at the elevation of a two-story building, and they were not lingering to feed. I saw several fly above the parade ground at the fort -- at least five, possibly more. The weather had been cloudy and rainy here for a couple of weeks leading up to the beginning of October so the fair weather on October 5 was a prime migration opportunity for the monarchs.
